This book was everything I wanted it to be and more! One thing is for sure, Rachel cannot write a predictable or boring story. How can she with the characters she has to work with?Ugh, I was so not a Jude fan...ever. And even through this book I wanted to hate him, but ended up falling in love with him and routing for him. His sarcasm is probably what broke down my defenses, lol.
Seth and Stella. Two people who are perfect for each other and nothing is going right. If anything their struggles are getting harder. How can you love someone that wants to kill you every time you see them? And how can you love someone you hate so much?
I can't wait for the next book. I'd beg for this to be Rachel's next release if I could. I can't wait to see what is in store for all the characters. Especially Seven, Jude, Seth and Stella. Ahhh! The suspense and waiting is gonna kill me!

I waited patiently for this book to come out. The date was pushed back a few times. I began to grow concerned if the book would live up to my expectations. Holy bologna it blew my expectations out of the water! I have no idea what I was concerned with. I have read every book released written by Rachel Higginson and I have never been disappointed. She is an amazing writer and has left me wanted to read the next book!!
I have been in a serious book funk lately. I was almost nervous to read this, the starbright series is my favorite of rachel higginsons books and i didn't want my non-enthusiasm of books lately to taint it for me. Instead the opposite happened! This book took me right out of my book funk and brought back my love of reading. Thank you rachel higginson! It has been a long, long time since ive stayed up till all hours of the night because i couldn't put a book down, i was up reading this until 445am and only put it down because my fiancé was waking up in 15 minutes for work and i didn't want him to make fun of me! So good, so exciting, so original, kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time trying to guess what seth was going to be like at every one of their meetings. So happy where the jude storyline ended up going, it was a curveball for sure. I just loved this book and i can not wait for February!
The story is like a roller coaster ride and i love it .i am always on my toes with racheal books i own all of them for series and they are wonderful. Hands down my fave author of all times . i hate that you make us wait but a good book didnt happen over night Sorry me just blabbing on ....

then seven really why are you making me like her!!!! she crazy but i love it really she want everyone wants to be unfiltered ar all times she really isnt so crazy when you step back and look at everything you read about here
jude ok i love him now ... but really i didnt want to at all i just wanted to dislike him but then you had to sow him being amazing to that zia and i was done ...
fight scenes are just getting better with each one and im on my toes waiting for that moment she gonna do seth in .Then she started tomy heart stop why oh why
why cant stella just have her happy ever after for more then two minutes !!!!!!!
What an awesome book. I just love Seth, even if he's kind of fallen right now. Poor Stella she really has a lot going on, how can she survive Seth wanting to always kill her. His moments of sanity are so sweet and loving, it gives her the hope she needs to fight for him. So many fallen, it's crazy what's happening and Jude he's a whole other story that will hopefully be told. Then there's Seven, you can't help but feel sorry for her since she is so lost. I can't wait for the next book. Such a great series.
As usual, I start my review saying how freaking much I love Rachel Higginson. Seriously, I picked up a free book from her Star Crossed series, and since then she has become my absolute favorite author. I will read and love everything she puts out just because I go through withdrawals waiting for her new stuff, BUT this is not my favorite series of hers. I thought the first book in this series was decent, the second book was much better, and now this third installment is really just a filler. Heir of Secrets is a must if you love this author already, but it doesn't do much to advance the series. I like the characters and premise, and I will impatiently wait for the next book, but this is one just OK.
This is probably more like 4.5 stars, just because it started out a little slowly for me and took a while to really pull me in. Once it took off, though, it really TOOK OFF! And yet again, I just read for three or four hours straight, frantically trying to finish a book by Rachel Higginson, an author that provides vast entertainment and extreme torture to her readers. (I say that with lots of love in my heart for her, of course), she is just way too good at cliffhangers!
February 2015 is a long time to wait for the next book in this series, but I'm confident that it will be very worth it.
Let me start out by saying that I am a huge Rachel Higginson fan! I have read everything that she has published, and most of that I have read twice. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Starbright series. However, I was somewhat disappointed in Heir of Secrets. Don't get me wrong...the story itself was entertaining enough. But, it felt like there wasn't much that happened. At least not much that was new. There were several points where I felt like I was reading Book 2 again. Seth and Stella still have their moments of uncertainty, frustration, despair, desire, and love....but that was such a big part of the last book that it didn't engage me as much as I had hoped. There was definitely some backstory that was explained in Heir of Secrets...definitely some plot thickening....but I did not feel that there was quite enough new content to fill out a whole book. I am looking forward to the next release (as I look forward to every book by this author). However, since the readers typically have to wait patiently, sometimes for months, past promoted release dates I hope to be more satisfied with the next installment. Mrs. Higginson has an amazing knack for creative storytelling and humor and I look forward to any future projects she is able publish.
